Photographing Tips We encourage all advertisers to have professional photographs taken. However, if you want to keep your expenses down. Below are photo equipment and photographing tips. Photo Equipment Needed to Take Your Own Pictures 1. You will need a good consumer digital camera. You do not need a professional digital camera to take good pictures. Digital cameras are highly recommended because you can instantly see the photographs and make adjustments on the spot. You can either borrow or buy a good consumer digital camera and have a friend take your pictures. 2. Next, you will need a background setting. If you do not have an interesting background to photograph, you can buy a roll of background paper for about $20 at your local photo supply store. Using your camera's flash will produce a brighter picture. Once you have set your camera setting, you are now ready to start taking pictures. Taking Pictures 1. Before taking pictures, check the position of the person being photographed. The subject or the person being photographed should stand at least 3 feet away from the background. 2. Next, check the camera's position or the person taking the picture. The person taking the picture should be at least 5 to 10 feet away from the person being photographed. 3. For the best results, we recommend photographing during the day. Mornings and cloudy days works best for outdoor photography. Avoid photographing outdoor between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm. Pictures taken outdoor between 11:00am and 2:00pm often look harsh and are full of dark shadows. 4. You are now ready to take pictures. Be creative and experiment. Have fun! 5.
